Getac: New Technical Sponsor
Rugged laptops and tablets
We are excited to announce Getac is partnering with PGN Ocean Racing and U.S. Patriot Sailing!
For the Mini Transat campaign, Getac is proving their B360 rugged laptop, built to operate in the most demanding conditions. Durability and performance matters as this Getac laptop will be used throughout testing, training, race preparation, and post race analysis. With the AI enabled Intel processors, large data storage hard drives, and rugged construction, this B360 laptop will be incorporated on the boat as we prepare for the Mini Transat. As a reminder, laptops or chart plotting devices while racing are not allowed, but I will be able to use this device for everything else to include training (collect data from the instruments and sensors), waypoint inputs for the gps, and route planning.
Getac is also outfitting each of the U.S. Patriot Sailing team locations with rugged laptops and tablets to support navigation and training. These systems will be used for both inshore and offshore sailing events.
Over 30 years of industry-leading rugged computing solutions
Getac Technology Corporation is a global leader in rugged mobile technology and intelligent video solutions, including laptops, tablets, software, body-worn cameras, in-car video, interview rooms, and evidence management software. Getac’s solutions and services enable the vital work done by frontline workers operating in the world’s most challenging environments.
Getac is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of rugged laptops and tablets, trusted by military, federal, and industrial operators who depend on reliable performance in harsh, unpredictable environments. Offshore sailing is no different. An ocean racing campaign requires equipment that can survive constant motion, moisture, heat, cold, vibration, and impact. That is exactly what Getac builds for.
What makes this partnership even more meaningful is Getac’s long-standing support of the defense community. With more than 30 years of experience providing rugged solutions to government and military users, their values align closely with the mission of U.S. Patriot Sailing, the nonprofit at the heart of this project. As a Marine, I’ve seen firsthand how critical dependable equipment is — offshore racing is simply another environment where reliability can’t be optional.
We’re grateful for Getac’s support and proud to welcome them to the team. Their technology strengthens our preparation and helps ensure that every stage of this campaign is supported by equipment as resilient as the sailors behind it.
Thank You Getac!
Connecting at Metstrade
Jane and I are currently in Amsterdam to attend Metstrade and the Yacht Racing Forum. We will meet with partners, suppliers, and innovators from across the marine industry. It is an excellent opportunity to connect with those shaping the future of sailing technology and performance.
If you are attending too, we would love to connect. Please reach out; we are always eager to meet those who share our passion for innovation on the water and purpose-driven performance.
The Build Continues
The plug for the mold is almost finished at JPS Production in La Trinité-sur-Mer, France. This is exactly what the boat will look like, except the actually boat will be made out of carbon fiber.

Looking Ahead — The 2027 Mission
While the last campaign focused on raising awareness for U.S. Patriot Sailing, this new mission is about expanding support — enabling the organization to create even more opportunities for veterans.
One major goal of U.S. Patriot Sailing is to introduce a cruising platform where veterans and their families can share calm, restorative experiences on the water — a vital way to strengthen connection and healing.
U.S. Patriot Sailing remains 100% volunteer-run, accomplishing its mission solely through the generous support of individual donors and grants. Together, we can make this next phase possible.
Donate HERE to support the U.S. Patriot Sailing team.
From raising awareness to expanding support — together, we’re building more opportunities for veterans.
