Launching the Next Mission: The 2027 Mini Transat Campaign
New Design and Build of a Classe Mini 6.50 Proto
After crossing the Atlantic solo in the 2023 Mini Transat, I’m excited to officially announce the launch of my next campaign — a bold two-year effort to win the 2027 Mini Transat.
I’ll be racing a brand-new prototype designed by Sam Manuard, one of the most respected yacht designers in solo offshore racing. JPS Production, a trusted builder for Class40s and most recently an all carbon IRC 50’ scow offshore racer, will build this new boat over the winter in France.
With a planned launch for spring 2026, this next-generation Classe Mini 6.50 will represent cutting-edge innovation, built for speed, endurance, and the same determination that carried me across the ocean last time.

Looking Back — What Your Support Made Possible
First, I want to say thank you to everyone who supported and followed the last campaign. The 2023 Mini Transat was only possible because of the generosity, encouragement, and belief in this mission from so many supporters and sponsors.
Together, we didn’t just complete the race — we made a real impact for U.S. Patriot Sailing, the nonprofit organization that empowers veterans through sailing. Since launching this partnership in 2021, the results have been outstanding:
Veteran participation grew by over 200%, now reaching 700+ active members and volunteers across the country.
Donations increased, including five new boat donations (J/109, Class40, Mini 6.50, Cape Fear 38, GP-26), expanding opportunities for more veterans to get on the water.
New individual and foundation donors who discovered the team through this campaign.
The team supported local programs across five main location, our primary focus, as well as competed at national and international events.
Two new locations were started (L.A. and Seattle), with another coming soon.
The team raced twice in Ireland at the Beaufort Cup, an international veteran and first responder regatta within Volvo Cork Race Week. Last year the team chartered three boats for this incredible event!
Outreach and visibility expanded through speaking events at yacht clubs and major appearances at the Annapolis Sailboat Show.
Media engagement grew — with features in print, online, podcasts, and radio interviews — spreading the story of veterans finding purpose through sailing.
Corporate sponsors joined the mission, including most recently Getac, which now provides rugged laptops and tablets to every team location for navigation and safety.
This is the difference your support made to the team!
Looking Ahead — The 2027 Mission
While the last campaign focused on raising awareness for U.S. Patriot Sailing, this new mission is about expanding support — enabling the organization to create even more opportunities for veterans.
One major goal of U.S. Patriot Sailing is to introduce a cruising platform where veterans and their families can share calm, restorative experiences on the water — a vital way to strengthen connection and healing.
U.S. Patriot Sailing remains 100% volunteer-run, accomplishing its mission solely through the generous support of individual donors and grants. Together, we can make this next phase possible.

From raising awareness to expanding support — together, we’re building more opportunities for veterans.
