Driven by Purpose: Seeking a Title Sponsor

From raising awareness to expanding support — together,

we’re building more opportunities for veterans.

After 15,000 nautical miles on Terminal Leave, with so many lessons learned and valuable experience gained, I am returning to the Classe Mini 6.50 circuit in France.

After my rudder ripped off in the 2023 Mini Transat, I knew I would return one day. There was just too much left on the race course and more to learn in the prototype class.

I achieved my original mission to raise awareness for U.S. Patriot Sailing, the non-profit organization that supports the veteran community, but still have so much more work to do.

A performance focused return to the 2027 Mini Transat

The Why Behind the Mission:

As I continue to race as an ambassador for U.S. Patriot Sailing, my mission is to increase support for this organization that helps fellow military veterans navigate challenges ranging from returning from combat deployments, to rehabilitation after injury, and transition to civilian life. This national level organization remains all volunteer run and is based out of five locations on both coasts, with the ability to expand further. Donations, grants, and volunteer support provide opportunities to help the veteran community. I remain committed to U.S. Patriot Sailing, having personally experienced support and received the help I needed after returning from deployment and transitioning off active duty.

Through my involvement with U.S. Patriot Sailing, I have seen firsthand how access to sailing and competition can create meaningful opportunities for veterans navigating life after service. Not as charity, but as a space where expectations are clear, individuals are challenged in a dynamic environment, and camaraderie is rediscovered. Growing this campaign creates the capacity to extend that impact by investing more time, visibility, and resources into supporting that mission.

Grounded in a strong personal why, I return to the Classe Mini fleet not only to participate but to compete at the highest level. My previous experience led me to the decision to build a new boat for the 2027 Mini Transat. This is not an incremental update, but a deliberate step forward with a platform created to push design and performance boundaries. We are all in on this new prototype boat and committed to building a winning boat for the 2027 Mini Transat.

I am only here, able to move forward with this new mission because of those who supported me in my 2023 Mini Transat campaign. I want to acknowledge the donors who have made this possible so far. To everyone who supported the last campaign, and to those who have already stepped up in supporting this new mission—many of you again and multiple times— THANK YOU! Your belief, encouragement, and generosity are not taken lightly, and this project exists today because of supporters like you.

The building of this new boat is now well underway in France. The design is no longer theoretical and decisions are being made now that will define performance potential. We have not held back in the design, build, or initial equipment load out to provide the best opportunity for optimal performance. We are making decisions that will define performance over the next two seasons, which is why this moment matters.

We are seeking a title sponsor who aligns with this campaign and wants to be a part of this experience. Bringing a partner into this campaign early allows for meaningful integration and shared storytelling from the build and initial testing phases to serious offshore racing.

From a funding perspective, my objective remains clear: to secure corporate sponsorship—ideally a title partner—that allows this campaign to operate at the level required to compete at the front of the fleet.

Join the Mission — New Sponsorship Opportunities Now Available

Until that level of sponsorship is fully in place, continued donor support remains essential. I have personally funded a significant portion of the campaign costs knowing that this project is worth building and that the right partners will come on board. As the boat comes together, expenses are accelerating, from equipment purchases and outfitting, to training preparation and the operational and administrative realities of running a serious offshore campaign. Now is the time when funding has the greatest impact.

For those who wish to support the project, donations can be made through U.S. Patriot Sailing and are tax-deductible. I have included a linked button below for anyone who would like to contribute and play a direct role in getting this boat to the starting line. THANK YOU to everyone who has donated so far, we are almost half way to our donation goal for this season! Please keep in mind this goal does not cover the cost of the boat, which is why we are still seeking a title sponsor.

Marketing and Exposure

The visibility around the campaign continues to grow quickly. From making front page news to an article published in Sailing World magazine, and with additional international coverage from other sources coming soon, we are capturing headlines. Alongside traditional media, the campaign is documenting the real work behind building and racing a high-performance offshore boat—the progress, the challenges, and the emotion behind the sailing. With videos breaking 100k views on social media, we have a story worth sharing to an international audience.

Also, check out my most recent interview on the Cape Horn to Port podcast hosted by fellow Marine and U.S. Patriot Sailing teammate Ronnie Simpson. We have more podcasts coming up soon and re-launching our own Mini Transat Mission podcast.

Thank you to our current sponsors and new partners

Fawcett Boat Supplies has returned to support this campaign and more announcements coming soon with technical partners!

The Mini Transat remains a serious challenge of skill, endurance, and preparation. As we prepare to launch the new boat and begin training this spring, we continue to seek sponsors who want to join this mission.

Thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far. If this campaign and what it represents resonate with you—as a partner, a supporter, or both—I welcome the conversation. Contact me at peter@pgnoceanracing.com
